Somewhat busy weekend. Ruth was down from the Yukon for a short visit. She arrived Tuesday night but we didn’t see her until Friday. It was a cloudy/foggy/rainy day but we made the best of it. Drove to the beach for a quick look-see, then to Spencer Smith Park in Burlington, saw the new pier and the tall ships sailing in for the weekend. Grime there we went to LaSalle Park, also in Burlington. Fed the chipmunks and squirrels. Walked around the marina checking out the sights.
From there we went to Lorna’s for lunch. Scott, Lorna, Ruth and I played some Euchre then headed down to Jimmy’s for dinner, where we stayed until about 11pm.
Ruth was off to Toronto on Saturday to spend some time with her daughter and family. Brooklyn came over, spent the night while Jeff Sharkey was off supporting a local mma fighter. No idea who the guy is but he won. :)
Sunday (today) was spent just hangin out at home. Sean’s friend Blake came over around 2pm. Jeff and Brooklyn left about an hour later. Scott and the kids spent some time in the pool, then we all watched a movie together - Catch Me If You Can, which Scott and I had already seen but was a first time viewing for the kids. It’s nice now that the kids are older and able to watch more adult movies.
I realize I started this by saying it was a somewhat busy weekend… Thinking about it now, this is probably an average weekend, or even a slow and relaxing weekend for some but for us, this is what we call busy. lol
Sitting outside watching the kids play in the pool and thinking about how I should update this thing in the way I had planned oh so long ago. Summer is finally here, I’d like to document some things before my brain totally gives out on me. ;)
Ashley’s grade 8 grad was Monday afternoon. She was so excited! She graduated with honours, which of course made Scott and I very proud. She went to the dance afterwards and had a great time! After that she went to a friend’s house for an after grad pool party, then she was off to a further different friend’s house to spend the night. I was happy to see my homebody of a girl out and about.
Ashley’s last day of school was Friday but Sean has had to continue going each day. He’s not too happy about it but isn’t put up much of a fight, which is nice. His last day is tomorrow.
Scott’s last day of work is tomorrow also. The place is shut down for some reason on Friday and then he’s on a week’s vacation. We have nothing much planned but rest, relaxation and fun in the sun! I’m looking forward to it.
What would have been my Mom’s 72nd birthday is in just a few days. At what age do I stop counting? It’s been almost 3 years and lately it feels like I miss her more than ever. I sometimes still can’t believe I’ll never see her again. It sucks.
Just happen to be sitting at my computer for a change (it really is a rare thing for me these days… this keyboard feels so foreign to me…) and though I’d pop in here and jot a few things down, so to speak.
Of course it’s been forever since I’ve been here. Ha!
The new Goo Goo Dolls website looks like crap. The new song, Rebel Beat, is weak. I just watched the video, which was nothing special or horrible as far as videos go, but the song is just… meh. Johnny Rzeznik’s voice used to make me feel all happy inside, but it does nothing for me during that song. :(
I walked just over 6k (Kenilworth stairs included) three days in a row now and I think I’m done! lol At least for tomorrow. I’m going to Christine’s for coffee instead. I might sneak in a walk of a few kilometers or so, we’ll see. My legs and ass muscles are hurting a bit. Me no likey. But, I know in order to not be a fat ass for much longer, I must do what I must do…so walk I must. :(
I wish there was a way to post from Twitter to here. I found instructions on how to tweet my posts but that’s not what I want. I want to post my tweets! Well, sort of. I’m not sure all my tweets belong here, but some of them might… for hostorical purposes.
Ugh. There was something else but my brain has gone dumb, as usual.
Looks like the weather will be in the double digits for the next little while. I’m SO ready for spring. No, SUMMER! YES! Heat and humidity please! :D
